Personnel

We set out below, a brief profile of the principal fee earners in the firm.  We hope that this will assist you in deciding who in the firm is best able to advise you in relation to your own specific problems.

Mark Pryer - Managing Partner

Mark is the managing partner in charge amongst other matters of the firm's financial control.  Mark was admitted as a solicitor in 1980 when he worked at a London firm in the West End for four years.  He joined Wilkins in 1984 and was made a partner in 1986.  Mark has experience in a wide range of litigation, but his particular interests are in medical negligence law, family and care proceedings and employment law.   He is an advanced member of the Law Society Family Panel.   Mark has a considerable knowledge of family law, and heads the family department Wilkins.  He is the first to point of contact you should make with the firm if you require either advice on family matters or in relation to your children.

Robert Thornton Smith - Partner

Robert is a graduate of Lancaster University, and was admitted as a solicitor in 1987.  After serving his articles in Manchester, he worked in the West End for several years, where he did large scale commercial litigation and personal injury work.  He joined Wilkins in 1990, where he initially did general family and civil litigation.  In the last few years, Robert has concentrated on civil litigation.  He has been a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel since its inception in 1994, and is a senior litigator with the  Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.  He is fully committed to the rights of accident victims, and has some considerable knowledge of the law in this field.  He can offer you comprehensive advice as regards your options available should you suffer an accident, and as to the best way to consider funding this, including the working of the conditional fees scheme.  Robert also has many years experience in other areas of civil litigation including but not limited to contractual, partnership and general commercial disputes, commercial and residential landlord and tenant problems building and neighbour disputes.  

Rosanne Ward - Partner

Rosanne is one of our most experienced solicitors, having qualified in 1972.   Prior to joining Wilkins in 1994,  she was a partner in the firm of Farrer & Co in London.  Rosanne has considerable experience in probate and all aspects of conveyancing, and adds welcome assistance to our conveyancing and probate team.

 

Sarah Hemmings - associate solicitor

Sarah was admitted as a solicitor in 1997, having served her articles with a firm whose head office is situated in High Wycombe.  Following her admission, Sarah concentrated on a mixture of family and probate law, joining Wilkins in September 1998 to concentrate mainly on the probate area of law, with which she is most experienced, and conveyancing when combined with probate.

Nita Taank - Assistant Solicitor

Nita is an assistant solicitor in our family department.  Nita was admitted as a solicitor in 1999 after completing her training in London.  Nita grew up in Aylesbury and was pleased to first join Wilkins in 2002 as a family solicitor specializing in matrimonial issues and Children matters.  She has just returned to Wilkins after spending a year in Canada where she passed her Canadian legal examinations.   She has a particular interest in dealing with domestic violence issues and children matters.   She is fluent in Gujarati. 

Victoria O'Neill - Assistant solicitor

Victoria is an assistant solicitor who mainly works for us in the criminal department.  She  is a graduate of Humberside University where she obtained a degree in Law with Criminology.   She joined Wilkins in 2004 and qualified in 2006.      She has recently qualified for the Duty Solicitor Scheme in Aylesbury.   

Matthew Nash - Assistant solicitor

Matthew is a former Aylesbury Grammar School pupil and Graduate of Exeter University.  After working as a pupil barrister in London he has practiced at  various criminal practices in Aylesbury, Manchester Luton and Saint Albans and is a former partner at Gordon Young and Co in Luton .   He is a highly experienced criminal solicitor advocate (with rights of audience in the higher courts) and a non-practising barrister.  He qualified as a solicitor in  January 2000 and has been acting as a duty solicitor since August 2000.    He has acted as Junior Counsel in 3 murder trials a 12 week fraud case and a 9 weeks drugs case.  His Magistrates Court advocacy has seen him conduct over 300 trials and he also has experience of Prison Parole Board hearings including Discretionary Lifer Panels and Prison Adjudications.    As well as his legal skills Matthew is fluent in French, reasonably fluent in German and speaks some Russian and Italian.

Adrian Wright - conveyancing executive

Adrian is a conveyancing executive  with many years of experience in all aspects of residential conveyancing having moved to Wilkins after working in Reading for 18 years.  Adrian is our principal residential conveyancer and is always happy to provide help and assistance throughout your transaction. 

Julia Pullen Licensed Conveyancer

Julia is a specialist property lawyer in our Conveyancing Department, primarily dealing with residential conveyancing including re-mortgages and transfers of equity. She joined Wilkins in June 1998 as a Personal Assistant to Rosanne Ward and qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2005.

Kirsty Wright - FInstLex

Kirsty  is a fellow of the Institute of  Legal Executives.  Kirsty Graduated from the University of Surrey in 1996 with a joint first class honours degree.   She has considerable experience working as a fee earner doing Personal Injury work and has a Certificate in Personal Injury Litigation from the University of Hertfordshire.  She is also a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and of the College of Personal Injury Law.  She also has an Ilex Level 4  Higher Professional Diploma in Criminal Law and is also assisting in the Criminal Department.  

Sheena Munraknah - trainee solicitor

Sheena is a trainee solicitor having joined the firm and started her training contract in January 2007.  She has an LLB  with honours from the University of the West of England (Bristol) and has previous experience working as a paralegal for two other firms of solicitors and for the Probation Service.  Sheena is local to Aylesbury having attended Aylesbury High School.  She speaks French and is also fluent in Creole.
